The investment forum is a new format of the annual RVC Partner Conference that has been held since 2012.
Many investment professionals are invited to participate, including: representatives of venture funds, private and institutional investors, business angels, rapidly growing high-tech companies, innovators (initiators of the innovative projects), large business enterprises, innovation development institutions, scientific and educational establishments, federal and regional bodies of executive power, and branch and professional associations.
The identification of prospects and challenges for funding the Russian high-tech economy sector, and creating mechanisms for its stabilization and further development.
A conference area will be organized on the event platform where registered participants can arrange meetings on a preliminary basis.
The regions are becoming the centers of economic growth and innovative development for many countries, and are increasingly focused on support of competitive technologies. However, many entities of the Russian Federation differ substantially by starting conditions and economic landscape, which complicates the implementation of a centralized regional innovation policy. However, in recent years, some regions have shown notable progress in coordinating and promoting the innovation process.

PwC’s Center for Technology and Innovation will present the sixth annual review of the venture capital industry for 2016, implemented in strategic partnership with RVC. The review is dedicated to analysis of venture capital transactions (cash investment in the equity of fast-growing companies at the early stages of business development), and contains data on the major financial elements of the Russian venture capital ecosystem.
The National Association of Business Angels (NABA) will present the results of the angel market study of 2016, Russian Angel Monitor, the preparation of which is supported by RVC.
The experts will discuss the trend inherent in start-ups of different stages of maturity, i.e. corporate conflicts between initiators or investors: causes of occurrence, as well as tools to address and level such situations (arbitration court to resolve the venture capital disputes).
The discussion of opportunity to invest pension funds to the direct and venture projects, investment partnerships and shares of companies of small and middle capitalization.
The venture capital industry development in Russia started more than 10 years ago. During this period, the sustainable development of venture financing institute was demonstrated, and the professional societies and tools to support innovative companies were formed. However, along with the positive trends, the institutional and private investors encounter the barriers to successful organization of the venture capital funds, such as, for example, attraction of limited partners (limited in the rights of management and responsibility of non-qualified investors).
As a part of this panel, there will be a discussion with participation of the venture investors and founders of innovative companies.
How investors help a company to grow and develop, which mechanisms are used for the development at Russian and international markets, as well as for the increase a value of a business. In which step of the company’s development there is an issue of international development. Where is the boarder of competences distribution and expenses inside and outside the company, which stimulates the active growth and consolidation at a global scale.
